The aim of any NGO is providing service to the needy. Though simple to sound, this is an intricate procedure consisting of a policy, seeking help, funding or also programming a channelised continuity. Specific cause of a particular NGO can be many and also this leads to focus in a certain area. The directors or committee can be government backed or independent. The cause can be specific or certain NGO’s also work as per the need of the situation.

Certain NGO’s work for the needs of the elderly. There are several NGO’s that also take care of senior citizens who are uncared for and also help for the betterment of their living. Giving a direction to their life, the elderly in these homes are very well taken care of. There are many facets like giving them knowledge about their rights and privileges. Getting a secure financial position at a senior age is a difficult issue and the NGO’s also have people who will educate them about their financial rights like pension, gratuity and other privileges.

Other NGO’s focus their attention on children. Here too the classification is many in the sense there are NGO’s who actively look for the needs of street children. Here there are kids who also get into labor at a tender age and begin with odd jobs like tea vending or lifting loads. This is also not legal as per our Indian constitution and the NGO’s express their concern and educate their families in concentrating on their welfare and education.

Orphanages offer nourishing care to mind and body of young children. The responsibility of preparing a child to face the world is a huge one and the NGO’s along with responsible staff are able to take the value further in instilling in young minds a sense of awareness and vocational guidance. There are more responsibilities by institutions to continually maintain the basic needs of food clothing and shelter and also look into educational investment.

Specific cause also is looked into during calamities of flood or disaster in case of natural calamities. Here the volunteers help out with the crisis and also nurse the needy and also allocate resources. For any NGO, the funding is a primary concern and the management for specific cause is responsible for allocation of financial resources.
