The most affected ones during disaster are the elderly as they are often actually frail, making it hard to run to safety or even in accessing aid material where they frequently get sidelined by younger and fitter persons. NGO’s, work to rehabilitate these aged, by not only providing aid material but also by providing long term free medical camps, catering to the needs of the flood affected sufferers. Families get relief supplies which include ration, clothes and shelter material which happen to be transitory homes for the displaced.

Help Age India:

HelpAge always works hard towards providing the aged much wanted relief through disasters such as the Kashmir & Gujarat earthquakes, Orissa floods, Mizoram famine, the 2004 Tsunami and most recently the Bihar floods. The relief workers worked day and night wading through deep water, venturing into areas totally unapproachable by transport on foot and provided much required relief to the victims.
